Instagram to Transcript

Instagram shows captions on many Reels while they play. It gives you no way to copy that text, because the words are drawn onto the frame. Quoting a Reel means watching it again and typing it out by hand.

Instagram to Transcript does the typing. Paste a public Reel, video post or old IGTV link. The audio is read on our server, a speech model writes down the words, and every line is marked with the second it is spoken. The text appears on the same page in a few seconds.

One transcript comes back in four shapes. Plain text for quoting or pasting into a document. Timestamped lines for jumping back to a moment. An SRT file that drops straight into CapCut or Premiere. A VTT file for a player on your own site.

Speech runs at about 150 words a minute and reading runs three or four times faster, so a three minute Reel takes forty seconds to read. Text can also be searched, quoted exactly, and handed to an assistant that cannot watch video.

There is no account, no download and no software to install. The temporary files are deleted when the request finishes and no transcript is kept.

For higher volume there is a bulk page that reads a spreadsheet of links, an HTTP API, and an MCP server so an assistant can pull transcripts itself.
